Day 03

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1) Fanfic: Magic Mike XXL Ken/Mike: I'll Be Standing Here By You

I'm not rec'ing this because it is a small fandom and I think it needs more love (I am actually quite pleased with the amount of love it has received), but because I think this is technically one of the best (if not the best) story I have written, structurally. There's no sudden shifts in tone (something I am prone to), or surprise(!) twists at the end. It just builds naturally (I think) to the confrontation at the end, and it is a honest resolution. They aren't nudged or shocked into revealing their feelings, it comes out of the organic moment. This story reminds me of what I am capable of.

2) Fanvid: due South: Fraser/Kowalski: Shut Your Eyes

Sticking with the "best" theme, here is another instance where the final piece became better than I was expecting. I must have build and rebuild this vid about 3-4 times, but it wasn't until after some wise beta comments from Scribe that it all came together and the last rebuild was so different, but exponentially better than all the previous ones. It was tighter, snappier, and flowed with the music much better. I'm really proud of it.

3) Fanmix: The Losers: Gen: The Losers Tarot Fanmix

Maybe not the best fanmix I have ever done for a project (That probably goes to the one I did for Torakowalski's Without A Net Upon The Wire), but definitely the hardest, and I am proud I finished it, and even on time! It is songs for the 22 major arcana cards of the Losers Tarot deck that [archiveofourown.org profile] mific built, and some were so hard to match with songs. I did keyword searches of my library and the internet, bought random songs that I thought might fit only to discard them, and it was just this huge process. But, still I am proud of the end product, and of all three, this project could probably use more love (and especially [archiveofourown.org profile] mific's amazing tarot deck. The artwork is inspiring).
